JHMF lights up climbers’ dreams!

JHMF has partnered up with the American Alpine Club (AAC) to support American climbers’ expeditions and projects.

Janette Heung herself was an AAC laureate when she received two grants through the American Alpine Club to support her alpine climbing trips to Bolivia and New Zealand. While mountaineering in the Bolivian mountains, Janette wanted to develop her skills and knowledge as a climber; in New Zealand, she was already putting up first ascents. Janette's climbing progress inspired JHMF to encourage the climbing dreams of others.

In the winter of 2021, JHMF donated $2000 to the Zack Martin Breaking Barriers Grant (ZMBBG), a grant that Janette applied for in the past. This award seeks to fund expeditions that focus, primarily, on humanitarian efforts and, secondly, on objectives involving alpinism, mountaineering and rock/ice climbing - something Janette was deeply interested and involved in.
